Me in 1979, 1986 and 2009 – Ch-ch-changes 🙂
Right, I have been threatening to do this for a long time; long before blogs existed……so this is my attempt at some kind of memoir….now I am no professional writer or collector of thoughts. This will be written intermittently and in the fashion of how I speak. So sorry not to be erudite. I hope you will find it interesting and engaging and I welcome any comments. I know I am opening myself up to much criticism and remarks on the Internet and I must admit I am not too thick-skinned but I have made my decision and I am going ahead with this which will be my first ever post on a blog of my own so, it is a bit nerve-wracking to say the least. I had all sorts of ideas for a title but came back to ‘After Laughter Comes Tears’ which is a Yorkshire saying with which we were repeatedly battered as kids when we were having ‘too much’ fun. I must stress these are *my* memories and not those of any other members of my family or anyone else so they may say ‘I don’t remember it like that’ or similar. Through the mists of time things may get distorted but I remember the major things.
Each chapter will continually be updated and edited – so look out for additions and changes too. As memories come back to me I will add them. If you are reading this and you are mentioned and you would prefer not to be identified please let me know.
Also, for reasons that will be obvious I am choosing to not name certain people involved and will use another name or initials for those that I don’t think I should name in full for protection and for legal reasons. If anyone has any guidance on this if you happen to read here I would appreciate your advice. Be gentle with me, please! Or to quote ‘Room At The Top’ -“Be gentle with me Joe!”
🙂 Please sign up for my updates as they happen. See top left-hand corner for signing up. Promise it won’t be on a daily basis as this can only be written in the right atmosphere and mood. 🙂
If you don’t want to sign up for updates that’s fine but to see more Chapters than the ‘Homepage’ please click on ‘barryclarke’ in the top left – hand corner.
Also, if you want to see a larger version of the photographs posted in most cases you can by just clicking on the image.
The chapters are shown with the most recent at the top so, to read in chronological order you will need to scroll down.
